RULES & REGULATIONS:

SAFETY FIRST:

Always shoot down range.  We have neighbors on the north & south side of the ranges, so it is especially important for the safety of everyone that we only shoot within the designated ranges and only toward their respective backstop.  Position your targets at the back stops, no more than 4 feet off the ground.  Targets positioned any higher increase the chances of errant shots that could clear the backstops.  Hanging targets in trees or above the backstop is considered careless, and if caught, those offenders will be banned from the club.

ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in the safe direction.

ALWAYS keep finger off trigger until ready to shoot.

ALWAYS keep action open and unloaded until ready to shoot.

When on the ranges, always keep firearm pointed down range.  Never chamber a round until it is your turn to shoot.

                                               Your clubs commandments

1.  Range use restricted to members only

2.  No alcoholic beverages on the ranges

3.  No fully automatic firearms

4.  Shoot only down range

5.  Shooting times: refer to the chart posted on the ranges & below

6.  No glass targets or metal cans

7.  Always pick up after yourself

8.  Keep muzzle pointed down range

9.  Always have your membership card with you

10. Limit of 2 guests per visit on one bench

                                  PLEASE OBEY THE POSTED HOURS!

SHOOTING TIMES ARE ENFORCED BY THE   COUNTY  SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT

Effective immediately everyone must be a member to use the ranges. Bylaws make provisions for guest (maximum of 2 persons and one visit) to use the ranges provided that they are accompanied by an active member. You must brief your guests on range safety rules and be present with them at all times while on club property.

Pistol range: the pistol range is only to be used for pistol shooting.  No long arms of any type are to be used in the pistol range.  That includes shotgun and rifles.  This is due to the fact that we have neighbors to our south and we can not stay under our restricted noise ordinance when long guns are used in the pistol range. Caliber restrictions are posted on the range.

Rifle range:  allowable uses, long arms, shotguns, muzzleloaders, and pistols.

Trap range:  regular trap is scheduled for every Sunday (check calendar).  If you have your own throwing machine, you can use the range any day that the range is not being used for regular trap programs.  There are 2 trap throwers on site for your use.

                                                         TARGETS:

Metal cans, glass of any type, aerosol cans or propane containers, exploding targets are not approved for target use. Paper targets, bowling pins, and specifically designed metal shooting targets are the only approved targets as long as they are at the back stops.  ALWAYS PICK UP YOUR USED TARGETS WHEN YOU ARE DONE!!  THIS IS NOT A TRASH DUMP!  DO NOT BRING YOUR TRASH TO THE RANGES TO SHOOT!

LOCATION OF TARGETS IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT:

On the pistol range move targets up or down range as needed, while always maintaining one basic shooting line with others.

On the rifle range, keep targets on the plywood back stops, or very close to them, no higher than 4 feet. This will help reduce skip or ricochets.

                                                   POLICE YOURSELF'S

This is YOUR club.  Clean up after yourselves.  Do not leave targets on the ranges when you are done shooting.  The trash barrels are placed there for your convenience.  They are not targets or target holders.  Please pick up your brass or used shells.  Brooms are provided.

                                                        GUESTS:

Only members in good standing are authorized to use the ranges.  Single membership allow for you to bring 2 guests to experience the facility with the hope of having them join.  Family members may also enjoy the ranges, but only when you are present.

Your club is financed and maintained by members.    Too many guests jeopardize the use of the ranges for legitimate members.  Please use common sense when inviting guests to visit the club. You must be 21 years of age to join.

TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE CLUB, DON'T BE ALARMED

IF SOMEONE ASKS TO SEE YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD.
